Frequently Asked Questions

Likely questions that applicants may ask while considering enrolling in the open distance and flexible e-Learning (ODFeL) mode of learning

1. What is the difference between the part-time (PT) mode of study and the Open Distance and Flexible e-Learning (ODFeL) mode of study?

Answer: The part-time mode typically involves face-to-face lectures on weekends or evenings, while the ODFeL mode allows students to study online, offering greater flexibility. ODFeL focuses more on remote learning, so you won’t need to attend regular on-campus lectures.

2. How does the ODFeL mode work? Is it fully online or a combination of online and physical attendance?

Answer: The ODFeL program is a blended learning. Online learning is 70%, using a learning management system (LMS) where you can access course materials, participate in discussions, and submit assignments. The remaining 30% is face-to-face (physical presence) for specific assessments, practicals, and examinations.

3. What programmes are offered under the ODFeL mode?

Answer: The courses offered under ODFeL presently are:

  1. Accountancy
  2. Business Administration
  3. Computer Science
  4. Library and Information Science
  5. Marketing
  6. Mass Communication
  7. Public Administration
  8. Quantity Surveying
  9. Science Laboratory Technology

4. How long does it take to complete a program in the ODFeL mode compared to part-time?

Answer: The duration for both ODFeL and full-time programs is generally similar, though the flexible nature of ODFeL may allow you to proceed at your own pace. Most programs span from 2 sessions (4 semesters) to a maximum of 4 sessions (8 semesters) on your enrollment status and study pace.

5. Will I receive the same certificate as students in the full-time or part-time mode?

Answer: Yes, graduates of the ODFeL program receive the same certificate as those in the full-time or part-time mode. The certificate does not indicate the mode of study.

6. Are there any on-campus activities or physical assessments required in the ODFeL program?

Answer: The ODFeL program is a blended learning. Online learning is 70%, using a learning management system (LMS) where you can access course materials, participate in discussions, and submit assignments. 7. How are exams conducted in the ODFeL program?

Answer: ODFeL examinations are conducted through scheduled on-campus assessments.

10. Can I switch back to part-time or full-time studies later if I choose the ODFeL mode?
